Growing up, I put sugar on everything. Cereal was my favorite thing. I remember loading up a bowl of Cheerios with like 5 scoops of sugar. Sounds of sugar I should say.
As I got older and had kids, and got fatter, this was not the lifestyle I could live anymore. I can't give up sugar all together though, I love it too much. Sugar free food and candy is so bland to me. So I needed to give something else a try.
The something else I found, was Xylitol. It is made from real Birch and is a !00% pure natural sweetener. It is also low in calories, carbs, and glycemic. Making it a very good alternative for me, in my eyes.
I was surprised to read of one of the benefits to Xylitol, it actually supports dental health, it helps to fight plaque on the teeth. It also has 40% fewer calories than real sugar, it is safe for diabetics and free of GMO, corn, wheat, gluten, soy, and dairy.
I love right into this one and made peanut butter cookies. I do the three ingredient recipe, 1 egg, 1 cup peanut butter, and 1 cup sugar/sugar alternative. 350 for 8-10 do not over cook.
Anyway, with that out of the way, I loved the way the cookies came out. I could not tell the difference between these and cookies made with real sugar. If anything, these tasted better.
