I am an ok cook, nothing spectacular, but I surprise even myself sometimes. I have no experience with staging dishes for the look, but I have seen it on tv. For my first time using it, this torch actually worked really well and was super easy to figure out how to use it.
The first thing I noticed about the torch, was the fact that you have to go buy butane before you can use it. I don't remember reading that on the product page, but I could have missed it. I was not really happy about that as we are on very limited funds at the moment, but I sucked it up and did my job!
Before you use anything, you should look it over and make sure nothing is visibly broken and everything looks correctly, especially when using Butane and creating fire. So of course I looked it all over and figured out how to use it before we put the butane in.
My friend just had a baby so we got a pie from the store. It was so boring and plain, but after I used this culinary torch, it looked so much cooler. I am not sure if you can use this with a whip cream or not, probably not because of the oil, but I think it would look amazing using it for the topping of a strawberry shortcake!
I am happy this torch. It is fun to use and you can create some cool looks if you are good enough. Mine aren't the best..yet.
