Mother and son: The respect effect

I thought as a mom that I would have everything down. The truth is, no matter how much we want to be or think that we are perfect, we really aren't. I don't even think it is healthy to strive for either. We are who we are and we need to own it!

My father was my son's best friend in the home full of women. After he died, my son started acting up and getting in trouble like never before. I never knew what to do. I tried to reason with him and to get him to just be the boy he was before.

I never thought about the respect aspect. I thought I was doing a decent job at it, until I read this book. What I got out of it, is the fact that I need to value him more and understand his opinion even more. I can't keep treating him like a little boy. He is the man in that house now and I need to treat him as such.

I have applied a few of the techniques so far and they have been working well for me. I found the book to be well written and it was easy to understand and follow. I will go back to it in the future with any questions I have.

You can find the book here: Mother and son: The respect effect

I received this book for free in exchange for my review, from FlyBy promotions.
