These poles, can be used for many different things. I believe they even show them used for skiing. I am not sure if I would try that, but I am sure if you lose your real poles, then these may get you down to the bottom. They also show on the tiny card, that they can be bent to be used as a normal walking pole, but they don't say how.
This company doesn't usually send any instructions with their products, but usually they are pretty easy to figure out without them. It would have been nice to have some with these, but for what I need them for, I really don't need any. I don't need to bend them and I don't need them for skiing or anything like that. So the normal straight up and down are fine for me.
I love that this set comes with different feet. A larger one for snow, another one for better traction (I think) and even a set that looks like a pair of shoes, that will make these poles pivot a lot better then the ones that come on them. I have tried them all, since we are in winter right now, sometimes there is snow outside but usually we haven't had any. they are easy to switch out.
The locking mechanisms, hold the poles to the height that you want or need. All you have to do is unlock them and pull the poles out to the place you want them and then lock them back. As long as you don't pull them to capacity, they are pretty sturdy and I feel safe putting my weight on them to walk in the woods or on a trail.
I feel like these poles really do help cushion the blow on my knees. I was very surprised and happy, that I could get back out there and start hiking again. They are also easy on my hands which have arthritis as well. They are covered in foam and even have a strap attached that makes them easy to throw over your hands and carry that way when you don't need them.
I really love these! Head on over to the Ohuhu Hiking/Walking Poles product page on Amazon. From there, you can find out more about these hiking poles, see what other people are saying about them and how they are using them, and you can pick up a set for yourself or the nature lover in your life.
I received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion/review.
