With only one closet, our apartment gets crazy. Everyone trying to get what they need throughout the day. The kids have dressers, so they don't keep much in the closet, but my husband and I have a bunch of clothes and we really needed something better!
To me, this is a great garment rack. It comes in a huge box and there is some assembly but nothing you need tools for. When you take it out of the box, the first thing you see is the shine of the steel. It is a bit heavy to lift out, so you may want to cut the whole front of the box apart and pull it out that way.
It is all one piece, except the 2 extender pieces, that are zip tied to the rack. They are perfect if you want this rack to be about a foot taller then how it stands alone. If you use the extenders, all you have to do, is unfold the rack and pull the two longer pieces up until they are standing straight up. They move around a bunch so i worked on one side and then the other. Place the extenders on top of the poles standing up and then place the top piece in.
The pieces slide in and out easily. If you don't want to use the extenders, simply straighten the two sides and then place the top piece. I am not for sure how tall this rack is without the extenders, but I assume it is about 5 foot. With the extenders it could be close to 6 feet tall. I am 5"11 and it is about a foot shorter then me with no extenders and a little bit taller then me with them.
All you have to do after that, is start hanging your clothes on the rack. I have about 15 shirts and 10 jeans hanging up right now.The bar isn't sagging at all and it doesn't appear like the rack will break. I feel like I could put more clothes on here safely, because there is more room left on the rack.
One of my favorite parts about this rack, is the fact that it has wheels.Basically making it a portable closet in my eyes. You can move a normal closet when you redecorate, but you can move this whenever and wherever you want. The wheels move better on our wood floor then they do the carpet, but either way it still moves!
