We love music in this family. We listen to it during the day, at work, in our vehicles..etc. You can be lifted up or be taken down, just by the presence of music. The words, the sounds. People listen to it when they are sad, happy, or depressed. My choice of music changes with my mood. I find it comforting and I think a lot of other people do as well.
When it comes to speakers and music, we like it loud. Not too loud obviously because we don't want to affect the hearing of my kids or ourselves, but loud enough to really enjoy it. This speaker is perfect for that. It doesn't get too loud even turned all the way up, with the phone or other device at max as well. Which means it is perfect for our apartment. We can listen at the volume we want and the neighbors have yet to complain.
It is pretty simple to use. It comes with both a stereo cable and a charging cord. Plug the charging cable into the device and then to a USB port to charge it. It takes a few hours to charge up but it seems to go pretty quickly. Once charged it can last anywhere from 4 to 6 hours in my experience with it.
The bluetooth is pretty easy to connect.. to the first device. After that it gets a bit tricky and a little time consuming. It can only connect to one device. If you want to connect to another device, you have to hold the button to unpair it to the other and then try and connect. Usually, if it is bluetooth, it will just connect if you try. This one is different and a bit annoying as far as that goes. It is probably the only thing I don't like about this speaker.
With that said, I really enjoy the look of this speaker. It appears to play music out the front and the back with the buttons on top. Alot of speakers only play out of one side so you have to point it a certain way, this one can be heard, no matter where you stand. The cool wavy design on the speaker cover is nice looking and a great texture.
All in all, I really enjoy this speaker. The bluetooth snafu is a bit annoying, but the sound is decent and I love the bass. Not sure what the bass pad is for specifically, but it does help to keep the speaker flat on a surface. Plus you can answer your phone calls while you are listening to music. If it isn't something you want everyone to hear, I would suggest turning the speaker off before you answer or else it will come through the speaker like a speaker phone.
