Our Willow is a scaredy cat. She is scared of everything and she is stubborn. She does what she wants, and has a mind of her own. Training her, is not so easy. There are so many things that I would love for her to do, that I just can't get her to. I think that these training treats might be a perfect first step.
The first thing i want to say about these treats, is the fact that they only have ONE ingredient and that is pork liver. Hearing that, you know that these are safe for your dog to eat. You know all the ingredients so you know there isn't any hidden chemicals inside.
When you first look at these, they look a bit like pieces of wood. I assume that is what freeze dried stuff looks like, as I have never seen anything freeze dried before I got these. They also smell...alot. So if you don't like pork or harsh smells don't sit well with you, do not smell the container.
I wanted to make sure that the average dog would like these, before I tried them on Willow. My friends dog Chloe was the first test subject. She went wild for these, she didn't want just one and bugged us all until we gave her another. Then Ginger was next, she wasn't too sure at first, but she did end up eating it. So I did have mixed reactions to them.
Willow, my picky eater, had to smell these before she would try them. Once she got her first taste though, she was hooked. She wanted more. I refused to give her more until she attempted to try the things that I was trying to get her to learn. Now when it is training time, she actually pays attention because she knows what is coming.
I think that if your dog likes these, that they would make a good training tool. When they like them, they go crazy for them. Dogs don't care what something looks like, they care about what things taste like, and I guess these taste pretty good to them!
If you want to check these out, just head over to the Stewart Pet website. You can find out more about the company, see the other treats they offer, and you can pick up a container of these awesome treats for your dog!
