Heartland Face Paint Kit

My kids all seem to love everything about fairs. The food is probably their favorite. I have to say I love it too...a little too much. It's a good thing I get a lot of walking in. Our fair in June is the only one they get to go to and I think my pedometer said we walked 7 miles one day down there! There is so much more to a fair then rides and food though. Another thing they love are the games and getting their faces painted.

When they found out I was getting a face paint kit they were really excited. They knew that they could have the feel of the fair all year long with this set. Plus on weird days at school, I could paint up their faces as well. From the moment this kit came they were bugging me to paint their faces. I finally had to give in and do it.

This set comes with : 8 circles of face paint, a brush, sponge and stencils. I have never seen such an elaborate face painting kit. It was nice to see it as I may be a bit of an artist, I am no face painter. The stencils come for boys and girls. The boys stencil has a skull, ninja, sword, and a pirate, while the girls includes a fairy, crown, Cinderella shoe, heart, and a butterfly.

At first I tried out the stencils. I found out after a few tries that you have to hold the stencil down hard, or else the paint will run underneath. By the time I got the hang of it, the kids were sick of washing off the mistakes. After that I attempted to do them free hand or free hand fix the ones the kids didn't feel like washing off.

My youngest wanted every stencil they had. She ended up with them on both cheeks and both hands. My oldest wanted a clown face which I had no idea how to do but had fun trying and my son wanted a skull in a few places. My son washed them right off but the others wanted to leave them on for awhile.

These didn't take long to dry on their faces and hands, and they washed off pretty quickly. For free hand and smaller things the brush worked well and for the clown face, the sponge was heaven sent. When you go to use these. dip whatever in a little it of water and then into the paint. You don't want to use too much or it will be runny.

In the end the kids and I had a lot of fun playing with this set. With up to 80 uses, I can see this lasting us a pretty long time!
