I had never heard of or used a french press before. when I got it, it looked like a foreign object. In fact, the first one I got, was cracked all around. I waited that long and I couldn't even use it. The box was in fine condition, it was wrapped up well. So the only thing I could think, was that the change in temperatures outside, caused it to crack. I contacted the company and they got me another code and sent it out right away!
The second one was perfect when it got here. No cracks, smudges, anything. Finally I could look it over and figure out what it was all about. It came with a few different things, extra screens, a bent spoon, and another spoon, plus the french press. The bent spoon is pretty awesome. You can stir your coffee, and then sit it on the edge of the cup. With it there, it stays out of the way so you can drink your coffee better.
The french press also came with a little instruction booklet. Which guided me through and showed me how to use it. Basically you put water in and plung it, then dump that water out. After that, you put the coffee in the bottom and then put the plunger back in and the water and you start plunging. When you are done with all of that, you are ready to drink your coffee.
I am not use to coffee this way, so it was a bit weird when I could taste what tasted like beans. But it was good coffee besides that. Super easy to make and it stayed warm for a long time after making it. I love the way this thing looks. I feel like it should be sitting in one of those 50's diners, and not my kitchen. People have actually known what it was and commented on it when they were over here.
