Ghosts are a real interest of mine. I have always wondered if they are real. I have had a few experiences of my own so I have to say I think they are real. It doesn't matter if you think they are real or not, no one can turn down a good ghost story!
I always learn a lesson in these stories. I like that they are so well written and that you learn something from them. In each book that I read, I choose my favorite story. I then say what I think the lesson was of the story. In this book, I have to say that "The Explanation for Ghosts" is my favorite short story in this book.
The lesson I took from this book, is to always take the time to listen to others. No matter how they look or what their age, they may have something to teach you if you give them a chance. Also, you have to learn to do for others, even if it won't benefit you. Step into circumstances with out thinking, and take more chances.
In "The Explanation for Ghosts" a group of middle aged guys invoke a ghost through, what I can only describe as a futuristic cell phone. All the other customers are scared out by it except a man in the corner. Who then explained to them what ghosts really are. The thing that came out was actually his ghost. The guys then decide to track down his ghost and are just stepping into an alternate world when the story is cut short. This is one I would love to read more of!
