In this book, the parents leave their children with a babysitter, while they went out to eat for the husband's job. By the time they get back home, the children and the baby sitter are gone. The police start going through all of their procedures to try and find them.
The cops assumed that the baby sitter is the one who kidnapped the kids, because they found out that her references were fake, she had paid people to give her good recommendations. Gemma (the babysitter) ends up getting thrown into a van so they can get rid of her. She ended up getting the upper hand over the kidnapper that was taking her to the woods to kill her.
While all of this is going on, the kids' figure out that the door is open to the room that they are being held captive. They come up with a plan to get out of the house, it is a plan that only a kid or someone who has been kidnapped would come up with. Very tricky and hard to pull off, but a plan nonetheless. This book ends with someone getting away and someone being caught.
I like how well this book is written. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, and you really don't know what is coming next. I usually don't like books that come in parts, because it takes so long to read the next part, and then you forget things. I think with this book though, I will be able to remember this whole book. Either because it is something everyone would remember, or because it is on a subject that really interests me, or both. No matter what, I really liked this book, and I can not wait for the next part!
