When I was a kid, there were many things you could do to make your bike look "cool" but I never really go into those things. My bike was just something to get me from one place to another. I never drove my bike at night so I wasn't worried about people being able to see me and my bike. Nowadays though, kids and adults alike are out there at night riding bikes in dangerous situations. If cars can't see you then they may hit you.
Super bright rim lights, are just what they sound like. They go onto the stem of the tire (where you put the air in) and are ready to go. There are a few things you have to do first though before you can light up the night. Since there are no instructions, I had to go to the product page on Amazon, and learn how to get these to work. You have to unscrew them and take a piece of paper out. The paper keeps the lights from going off while they are sitting or being shipped, so they won't go dead before you even get them on your bike. After you take the paper out, you screw it back together and then there is another piece they have to be screwed into. I couldn't get them to go on the stem this way, so I took the one piece and screwed it onto the bike and then screwed the "light" onto it that way. If there are spokes on your bike, you will be in an awkward position trying to get them to screw on.
I got three sets of these, Green, which is my favorite and a very pretty color. Blue, which I can't get them to unscrew to get the paper out, so I have no idea what they look like, and a multicolored set. You get 2 a piece of each color of course since you have 2 tires on your bike. They aren't that well made, it always seems like they are going to break when I am screwing them together or onto the bike.
The colors are pretty cool..when I could get them to work. In the bag, they all light up every time the bag is moved. I even got them to light up by moving them with my hand, but on the bike, they don't work as well. I don't know if I didn't screw them in right or we didn't ride the bike far enough. They do light up, but nothing like the picture on the Amazon product page. The kids love them though so it all worked out in the end. They remind me, of the light up shoes that little kids wear. I think that is why they like them so much.
All in all, these make my kids happy, so I am happy too. They work for the most part and now I don't have to worry about s when we are out on a bike ride and we don't get back before dark. These would be great for anyone who rides their bike at night or who has kids that ride their bike at night.
They show these on Motorcycles and Vehicles as well, I can see putting them on a motorcycle, but it would be kind of hard to use them on a vehicle, unless you buy more then one package. Always check the rules in your state before purchasing these for you automobile. Some states don't allow things like that. I am in no way telling you that it is ok or to put them on your automobile. I am only saying, they say it is possible. These can go on items with a stem and wheel, so the choices are endless, but that doesn't mean your state will allow it.
Head on over to Amazon by clicking here. You can find out more about the product, see what other people have to say about it, and buy these for yourself, for the low price of $12.95.
