Chinese Lanterns

When you have an event like a party or wedding, you have to have things for decorations. So many decorations are cheaply made and money is wasted on broken decorations. These chinese lanterns from Party City and Beyond are different. They appear to be cheaply made when you first see them, but I put these suckers to the test!

The first thing I noticed when I got these lanterns, is the fact that there were no instructions. I wasn't home at the time I was looking these over so I couldn't get on the internet to find out how to put them together. It seems so simple, lift the sides and make a circle, but there are metal pieces included and you have to figure out how they go inside. I tried and tried to put the metal piece inside one of the lanterns and I could not get it to fit inside. Finally, I decided to just jam it in there and risk breaking the lantern. You know what...I think I figured it out! It may not be the way to do it but it works and the lanterns are just fine afterwards. The metal pieces have circles at the top for easy hanging.

When they sent these lanterns, they also sent an e-book with ideas on what to do with the lanterns besides hanging them up from the ceiling or just placing them on a table. I am in love with the ideas in there and I will be using at least one of them in August. My friend is getting married, I am the maid of honor and these decorations are really going to help us out!

The lanterns are a white color which some might think is bland, but white always goes with whatever colors you choose. So it is always a safe bet to go with a neutral color for events that are not your own, or even if they are for you and you needed some more decorations in a bind. Plus you can change them and add decorations with markers or paint and really make them fit into the event. They are beautiful without altering them though.

I wish there was some sort of spot to in a flameless tea light candle. I think these lanterns would be beautiful in a dark room all light up. Maybe through in a simple instruction sheet to help people like me put them together. I had no real issues with these. I poked them, hit, dropped them etc and couldn't get them to break. I am going to use these for every event I have until they do finally tear up.
